Where it fits
The workhorse compact PLC for skid control, packaging machines and small utility plants. Onboard PROFINET means it drops into an existing Siemens architecture, and signal boards let you add a couple of analogue points without stepping up to a modular rack. Where a plant runs a mix of legacy S7-300 and new equipment, this is usually the sensible migration target for the smaller nodes.
